Each year thousands of visitors visit Pattaya,  the most popular beach resort in Thailand. Located on the Gulf of Thailand, its beaches stretch some 8 miles. The history of Pattaya was that of a small fishing village until discovered by American servicemen in 1961. Today the beaches are dotted with deluxe hotels and other lodgings and are host to tourists from around the world. There is daily bus and train service taking about 3 ½ from Bangkok. Pattaya is famous for its beaches and water activities – sailing, swimming, diving, windsurfing, parasailing among others. Pattaya has trendy boutiques, international cuisine, golf, and health clubs. There is truly something for everyone at this renowned tourist destination.
