River and Canal Tours
Because of its many canals, Bangkok is sometimes called the Venice of the East. There are canal and tours of the Chao Phraya River leaving from the Tha Chang pier.
Dusit Zoo
Bangkok’s oldest zoo has a collection of African and Asian mammals and birds within a garden setting.

This 60-acre farm has many wild animals and crocodiles. There are shows such as Crocodile Wrestling and an Elephant Theme Show each day.
Safari World
This 300-acre site on Raminthra Road has a park with animals from Africa and Asia, a Marine Park with trained dolphins, and a Bird Park.
Rose Garden
This is a very popular attraction 18 miles west of Bangkok. Here there are lovely gardens. In the nearby resort, there are daily shows of sword fighting, Thai boxing, and Thai dancing.
Damnoen Saduak Floating Market
Fifty miles west of Bangkok is this popular tourist site where each day hundreds of boats bring their goods each morning. Boats can be hired to view the river and life in the nearby villages.
Railway Museum
A must for railroad buffs! Here you can see Steam Trains as well as a collection of toy trains from various eras.
National Gallery Museum
This museum houses a fine collection of contemporary and traditional art.
