The Sagrada Familia. This huge neo-gothic structure was created by Antonio Gaudi in 1882. It is the most visited attraction in Barcelona , receiving more than 2m visitors a year. A museum inside is dedicated to the history of its construction.

The Pedrera of Antonio Gaudi. This is one of the most important museums of the city and its second most visited attraction.

The Dali Museum . Although not in the city, but in the nearby village of Figueres , it is easily reached by train. Here can be seen one of the largest collections of Dali’s art.

The Barcelona Aquarium. This is one of the most popular exhibits in the city with some 1.5m visitors a year.

The Magic Fountain of Montjuic. A favorite spot famous for its light, music, and water show.

Las Ramblas. The most famous street in Barcelona with a variety of shops, hotels, and bars. Not far away are tourist attraction such as the Cathedral of Barcelona, the Parque Guell, the Casa Mila, and numerous museums and churches.

Barcelona is famous for its culinary delights. No visit to Barcelona would be complete without sampling its fish dishes such as ‘ zarzuela ‘ or ‘ la opera ‘ or its deserts – crema catalana, mel i mato, or postre de musico. Popular wines from the region includes the red wines Peralada, Alella, Tarragona , and Priorat and white wines from Penedes. Fresh fish, meats, fruits and vegetables can always be obtained in the outdoor markets here. There are numerous international restaurants and of course fast food restaurants.
