Playa del Carmen
Originally Playa del Carmen (Carmen's beach) was only a small fishing town located in front of Cozumel Island, but with the genesis of Cancún more and more tourists arrived, so that you can say, today it is the privileged tourist destination of this area. It offers better beaches than Cozumel being therefore a recommendable place for diving and nightlife is full of emotions and happiness. As the way of life is liberal and really relaxed, you can find people sitting topless in the sun on the beach and even optional nudism one kilometer to the north of the main beach.
Playa del Carmen is an ideal place for relaxing, sunbathing and swimming in warm waters. With sundown the nightlife is starting with a lot of fun; mainly in the 5th Av. you will find plenty of nice and attractive establishments inviting you to sit down and have a drink taking advantage of the 'happy hour'.
