Welcome to Prien am Chiemsee in Germany !

 The Lake Chiemsee, also called "the Bavarian Ocean", is part of the rest of a former glacier.  Surrounding the south part of the lake stand three amazing islands, the Herrenchiemsee, which is home to the King's Palace, the Frauenchiemsee Islands where you can see a convent from the 8th century, and the Kraut (herb). You can enjoy this spectacular view by taking the ferry.

 In Chiemsee you will find the most relevant resort, the Prien, which is located near the lake and the main Munich-Salzburg rail line. Enjoy visiting the center of the city where you will spot the Baroque Pfarrkirche Mariä Himmelfahrt that commemorates the naval victory over the Turks through the battle of Lepanto.  Take a ride on the steam engine pulled Chiemseebahn (narrow-gauge railway), that departures from Bahnhof.
