Welcome to Berlin, Germany
The city of Berlin covers 889 sq km and its population is over 3 million people. This restored German capital combines exquisite places and landscapes with historical buildings and monuments, as it has been home to numerous events in the history of Germany. From the medieval times, Berlin has been known as the barometer of Germany’s mood. It is a city of great relevance, as today it is focus of a mammoth project of reunification. Years ago, Berlin was located in what was known during medieval times as the Mark of Brandenburg, known today as the Bundesland (federal state) of Brandenburg. Berlin offers a huge variety of activities that are sure to entertain you, from dazzling theatres and shows, remarkable museums, high cuisine restaurants, to pubs, bars, and public buildings that display the heart of this magnificent city. And don’t forget the joyful nightclubs!
Even though, the wall, the most controversial icon in the history of Berlin has disappeared, the city is still divided and goes from the glitz of the west to shabby east of Berlin. This last area mentioned is so renovated that rests of the Wall are hardly found.
