Attractions in Berlin
Brandenburger Tor 
This monument dates from 1791 and was built by famous architect Carl Gotthard Langhans. It commemorates PEACE and it has been a symbol that stands for the impenetrable boundary between East and West Berlin. Years after, it was taken as a symbol of Prussian militarism and it was guarded by the Quadriga. This famous monument has also been used as scenery for political rallies. Back in 1961, when the Wall was built, it was sealed of. Later, when the Wall was turned down in 1989, it was reopened and everyone may travel through it.
Checkpoint Charlie Museum
This museum was part of the famous tower that commemorated the tension of East-West during the Cold War. After the Wall was dissolute and the border reopened, the tower was craned away. Then in 2001, a replica of the Guardhouse was brought, as the one in Allierten Museum in Zehlendorf, which is the original one. In this fascinating museum you will have the opportunity to observe tools and items from the escape attemps back in East Germany. Visit the East Side Gallery to see a real piece of The Wall.
Kaiser-Wilhelm-Gedächtniskirche This commemorates a piece of the west tower that was able to stand after the devastation of the church in 1943 during World War II. The citizens of Berlin call it "The Hollow Tooth". Later, famous artist Chagall rebuilt it with blue stained glass.
Kulturforum Before ambling over to the Kammermusiksaal (Chamber Music Hall) and the neo-Romanesque confection of Matthäuskirche Kick off the Berliner Philharmonic, a concert hall with otherworldly acoustics; which is headed to this cluster of museums and concert venues west of Potsdamer Platz! Also, a wealth of European painting from the 13th to the 18th centuries is the must-see of the complex in the Gemälde gallery (Picture Gallery). The Kupfer Stichkabinett (Museum of Prints & Drawings) and the Escher-like Kunstgewerbe museum (Museum of Applied Arts) are other highlights included.
Kreuzberg This place is where you will enjoy a great time in its interesting cafes, music scenes, and markets. This active and charming neighborhood is inhabited by Turkish immigrants and Trendy anarchists. Here you will also find lovely bookshops.
Potsdam This place was home to the well known Postdam Conference back in 1945 formerly known as Wilhelm II's mock-Tudor mansion. It is located in Havel River behind the southwestern tip of Greater Berlin. It has also been known as the German version of Versailles.
