Paris Restaurants:

The venerable capital of gastronomy gets hip. A Parisian makes food his top priority and people do not eat on the run here, nobody is chewing in the streets of Paris.

A restaurant (as opposed to a café) meal in Paris used to mean three courses, but nowadays most limit themselves to two courses at lunch and indulge in a full meal only at dinner.

The modern bistro has become firmly entrenched in the Paris food scene, setting a standard that even haute cuisine restaurants sometimes have trouble surpassing. The food at L’Astrance, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon and Flora is likely to be as good as anything you might taste in Paris, if not the world.

Add to that restaurants with spectacular settings, such as Le Cristal Room in the Maison Baccarat or Kong in La Samaritaine, and this city has plenty of surprises to offer even to those who know it well. Of course, one of the great pleasures of Paris is stumbling across a buzzing little neighborhood bistro, and there are still plenty of these to be found.
