Hotels : Montmartre & Pigalle
Terrass Hôtel 12-14 rue Joseph-de-Maistre, 18th (01.46.06.72.85 / fax 01.42.52.29.11 This is a classic hotel, but for those willing to pay top euro for the best views in town, Terrass fits the bill. Ask for room 704 and you can lie in the bath and look out at the Eiffel Tower (and people on the Eiffel Tower could possibly see you in the bath).
Hôtel Roma Sacré-Coeur
101 rue Caulaincourt, 18th (01.42.62.02.02 / fax 01.42.54.34.92 This hotel is located on the trendier, north side of Montmartre, far from the postcard shops and coach parties, but still within walking distance (uphill) of Sacré-Coeur. From the tiny lobby, a whimsical, Astroturf-covered staircase leads to the 57 rooms, simply decorated in pastels; the priciest enjoy views of the basilica. Air-conditioned rooms are available on floors five to seven.
