The famest Beaches : Copacabana and Ipanema
These world-renowned beaches seem to stretch without end. Here one can relax and admire the scenery with a favorite drink in hand and step out into the warm turquoise waters for a swim. These beaches are open to all so you might see beach volleyball games, the old and the young, or mothers caring for their young children at bath facilities especially for them. On Sundays, the streets to the beach are closed to automobiles. It is said that not to visit Copacabana or Ipanema is not to really have visited Rio de Janeiro.

Corcovado : The statue of Christ the Redeemer or Jesus
Corcovado
This famous statue of Christ overlooking the city is one of the most visited sites in Rio de Janeiro. A special train carries visitors to the mountain top site of the statue where you have a spectacular view of the city and sea. A restaurant / bar offers refreshments at the top.
Pao de Acucar
Famous Sugar Loaf Mountain, reached by cable car, offers a majestic view of the city so be sure and bring your camera. Refreshments and souvenirs are available at the summit.
Nightlife:
Uncountable bars and restaurants are found along the road beside Copacabana and Ipenema. Even more numerous are the girls who wish to accompany male visitors – for a fee of course. As anywhere, use discretion!
