Welcome to Vienna the city of the Habsburg Dynasty

Vienna is the capital of Austria and its largest city, too.  Vienna is world wide known as the city of music and is located at the feet of the Danube. Nowadays, Vienna controls the cultural and economical life of Austria and its people make the fifth part of Austria's total population. Vienna is also a very relevant harbor for this country since is conveniently located near the Danube.  On the southeast of Vienna you may see the International Airport of Vienna in Schwechat.

 

Vienna is a city of many relevant moments and situations.  At the beginning, Vienna  was a Roman military camp that was named Vindobona, which is currently located in the center of the city.  In the years to come, it became  home to the famous Habsburg Dinasty and then a province called Bundesland in the year of 1922.  Eventhough, World War I devasted the city, Vienna is nowadays known as the most relevant and most frequented city in the whole country of Austria.

 

Vienna is also known for being a multicultural city of all times, as everyone enjoys its many cultural attractions such as the Schonbrunn Palace and the Imperial Palace also known as Hofburg.  Something else worth visiting is the Ring Boulevard where you will be delighted with its majestic architecture.

Vienna is also an extraordinary place of learning and a fountain of cultural knowledge, as it is home to 100 museums, over 40 theatres, and three opera houses.  Here you can also enjoy music festivals and visit the Museumsquartier, which is home to the largest cultural place in Europe.

In Vienna you will also find important and relevant theatres such as  the Vereinigte Bühnen and other private ones where youngsters develop their interests in this fine art.

Vienna's weather is dry, and cold winds surround the city during winter, yet summer is usually very hot and dry.  Nevertheless, you can see the beauty of a dazzling autumm evening and enjoy the colored leaves in the trees.

Vienna has been and is still called the city of music for its remarkable orchestras such as The City of Vienna Concert Orchestra and the Vienna Symphony Orchestra.  It is also visited by artists from all over the world.  Many relevant musicians lived in Vienna including Beethoven, Mozart, and Strauss among others.  This city is surrounded with exquisite music all year round.
