Fortress of Hohensalzburg Visit this unique and best taken care of Medieval Fortress in Salzburg and delight yourself with its astonishing architecture and style.  It kept the city safe for over 800 years and today you may visit it to discover the chambers and enjoy Salzburg's music.

Mozart’s Birthplace (Mozarts Geburtshaus) This monument distinguishes this famous artist's career through displaying its memmorabilia from his fisrt years during childhood.

Burgmuseum This is a well known museum of history  that is worth visiting in Salzburg.

Carolino Augusteo Museum Visit this city museum and get charmed with its exclusive art and archaeology collections, as well as its musical instruments.

Eisriesenwelt This cavern or cave is found in the outer side of Salzburg and is world known for being one of the largest ones.  It features and underground ice cave that will take your breath away.

Marionette Theater (Marionettentheater) This is a great theatre to take the little ones for a fun and entertaining moment in a puppet show.  Also, the eldest can enjoy live opera presentations during different times of the year. 

Mirabell Palace and Garden This building is home to many goverment offices and was originally a palace.  In the outer side of the palace, in the garden, the Sound of Music presents the Von Trapp children singing.

Hellbrunn Castle (Schloss Hellbrunn)

Visit this antique and historic building which also features an amazing architectural structure.

Salzburger Residenz

This residence belongs to the archbishops  who used to dominate Salzburg and it dates from 1595.

Getting around

Getting around in Salzburg is very simple and safe.  You may choose to take a walk  around the city or hop in its public transportation, which includes trams and buses that will take you around town from Nonntal parking lot to Sigsmundsplatz, the city-center parking lot.  You may use the Salzburg card that is valid for different periods that go from 24 to 72 hours according to the fare. It is also useful for admission to Salzburg's most interesting cultural places. Within those you may visit Mozart's birthplace, the Hohensalzburg fortress, the Residenz gallery, the Baroque Museum in the Mirabell Gardens, and the gala rooms in the Archbishop's Residence. You may use the card to visit outer places of town such as, the Hellbrunn Zoo, the open-air museum in Grossingmain, the salt mines of the Dürrnberg, and the gondola trip at Untersberg. It is very simple to use it and visit all this places since this specially designed and small card also includes a brochure and a map.  It is better to do sightseeing thorugh this way since most of the monumental landmark is designed exclusively for pedestrians and renting a car will not let you enjoy all of Salzburg's beauty.
